About The Course

The objective of the HVAC System Control Course is to educate the Participants with theory and hands on training to a degree of competency in the heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC)) field, enabling the student to perform the associated skills

Course Participants

This course is intended for HVAC consulting engineers, energy engineers, facility managers, property managers involved in the selection, design, operation or maintenance of commercial buildings or anybody interested in learning about HVAC. No prior knowledge of HVAC is required.

Course Presentation

The course format is very much hands-on, it is presented in a helpful and informative way, its information-packed and uses a variety of media to enhance learning including photos, graphics, animations, video, physical samples and question-and-answer sessions. Comprehensive course notes are provided.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course, participants will be able to

  • understand the HVAC environment, systems & control
  • understand control system fundamentals
  • correctly connect, commission and calibrate sensors & auxiliary devices
  • identify various control system types employed in HVAC systems
  • understand zoning and zone equipment
  • understand hydronic systems and their components
  • understand the principles of control valves & dampers
  • identify the various systems controlled in HVAC
  • understand HVAC control systems operation & maintenance
  • troubleshoot ATC systems
  • identify tools and fixtures used in ATC system maintenance & installation
  • use psychrometrics in diagnosing HVAC control problems
